“I already began them on May 25 this year [after being appointed acting governor of the Penza region], and so I will continue it,” he told the press immediately after the end of the inauguration ceremony, held at the Lunacharsky Drama Theater.
According to Ivan Belozertsev, “developing a region first requires preserving our industry in the tough times.”
“The industries must work, they must feel the support, from the Penza region government too, of course. So we will make sure to pour in money for support of the Penza region industry. I said it during my work before the election, and I confirm it now as well,” the governor stressed.
Other areas that require work are support of small and medium enterprises and creation of new jobs, he added.
“At the moment [we must] develop and support agriculture – this is our main task today. We must provide for the agricultural sovereignty of Russia and the population of the Penza region. We have an excellent foundation for that,” Ivan Belozertsev said.
He also listed several more priority objectives – work with investors, education, healthcare, and urban amenities, including the upcoming heating season.
“We must prepare in advance, so that the people would be in warm flats and houses when the cold season arrives,” the Penza region governor pointed out.
