Penza, 24 March 2021. PenzaNews. The Penza regional government resigned after Ivan Belozertsev stepped down as governor on the grounds of loss of confidence of the head of state, but it will continue to function until a new top executive body of state power is formed in the region. This was reported by Dina Cheremushkina, acting deputy head of the Penza region governor's office and government, head of the governor's press service department.

She specifies that the decision by Russian President Vladimir Putin to dismiss the head of the region entails resignation of the regional government in accordance with the region's charter and Federal Law No. 184-FZ of 6 October 1999 “On General Principles of Organising Legislative (Representative) and Executive Bodies of State Authority of Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation”.

According to her, from that day on, members of the Penza region government would work with the word “acting” added to their titles.
