The plate with the names of people and organizations that donated the largest amount of money for the Spassky Cathedral construction in Penza will be placed at the entrance to the shrine. This was reported by the Archbishop Seraphim of Penza and Nizhnelomovsk at the press conference that took place on Wednesday, January 11.

“The Orthodox tradition will be preserved. […] There will be a separate wall at the entrance where we will place a big plate with the names of the main benefactors who donated large sums of money,” he explained.

The church hierarch added that the opinion of those who preferred to remain unknown to the public will be taken into account.

According to the church hierarch, the cathedral is built at a relatively good speed.

“You know the history of the cathedral – it has been built over 20 years by now. […] That is why during the last 5 years we did a lot. Penza citizens see the structure of the cathedral from any part of the city. […] One or two years will be enough to finish the construction works,” the Archbishop Serafim said.
