Resident of Penza region receives official letter of thanks from Moscow mayor

Penza, 17 January 2012. PenzaNews. Resident of village Bessonovka of the Penza region Pelageya Busarova was awarded a memorable sign “70 years since the battle for Moscow”. She also received a letter of thanks from mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin.

“Moscow will never forget mass heroism of Soviet soldiers and guerrillas, self-sacrificing efforts of workers of rear areas of which you were also a part,” the letter says.

“Pelageya Busarova worked at garment factory No. 2 in Moscow during the war, was “Voroshilov Sharpshooter”, received special training for snipers to protect the capital,” Olga Kolesnikov, the head of the press service of Chief Federal Inspector of the Penza region.

She added that the veteran had already been awarded a medal “For defence of Moscow”.

The memorable sign of the Government of Moscow “70 years since the battle for Moscow” was founded on November 16th, 2010.

It is handed to veterans-defenders of the city living in the capital, regions of the Russian Federation, the CIS and Baltic countries and the far abroad, those awarded medals “For defence of Moscow” and also to persons continuously employed at the enterprises, organizations and offices in the capital, did military service, studied at vocational, railroad and industrial schools in Moscow from July 22nd to January 25th, 1942 and those engaged in building defence lines in the capital.
