Penza, 2 February 2012. PenzaNews. Governor Vasily Bochkarev held a meeting with the head and departments of Penza regional oncological clinic and asked to accept strict measures in short terms to those doctors who extort money from patients for treatment.

“I got many references from citizens who complain on constant requisitions in hospitals. The majority of them were concerning workers of Penza regional oncological clinic. That’s why I suggest the head physician of medical institution to equip a room with a shop and to quilt by birches the physicians illegally demanding money from patients,” the head of the region declared.

Head of Penza regional oncological clinic Vladimir Smirnov assured Vasily Bochkarev that all information on requisitions in medical institution will be checked as soon as possible.

“I consider that if the head can not put things in order then it’s necessary to appoint another chief to this medical institution,” said the head of the region.

“If the situation in an oncological clinic does not change radically, I will personally address to law enforcement officers and order them to hold inspection,” Vasily Bochkarev summarized.
