More than 76 thousand residents of Penza took part in subbotnik

Penza, 23 April 2012. PenzaNews. More than 76 thousand residents of Penza took part in a subbotnik (a day of unpaid work on Saturday when citizens usually clean the territory or plant trees) on April 21.
“More than 500 units of equipment worked that day, that is 127 cars more than in 2011. The number of the enterprises participating in city cleaning increased from 1 thousand 479 in 2011 up to 9 thousand 455 in 2012. There were 51 municipal organizations and 9 thousand 404 private ones,” reported the press service of city administration.
During this day 4 thousand 176 trees and bushes were planted totally.
“About 75 unauthorized dumps were liquidated, more than 2.8 thousand cubic meters of garbage was collected and taken out. 3 cemeteries were cleaned by the forces of intelligence services and residents of Penza,” reported the press service.
In total about 1.5 million sq. meters were beautified that day.
“Beautification month lasts till April 27 in Penza,” admitted city administration.
