Public transport fare increased since April 30 in Penza

Penza, 26 April 2012. PenzaNews. Public transport fare will be increased since April 30 in Penza. Order No. 412 was signed by the head of city administration Roman Chernov on Thursday, April 19, however information about it was published only in one Penza media, namely the newspaper “Municipal Vedomosty”, with the circulation of 1 thousand copies.

According to the order, transport fare with the use of microprocessor plastic cards “Preferential transport card of Penza resident” and “Transport card of Penza resident” in high-capacity buses and trolleybuses will be 13 rubles, in case of cash payment it will be 16 rubles.
Besides, since April 29 fare in suburban buses will be increased. Ticket’s price will not depend on extent of a route and will be 13 rubles by transport card and 16 rubles by cash.
As it was reported earlier, on February 24, 2012 the head of Penza administration Roman Chernov, answering journalists’ questions after the end of the hotline in editorial office of newspaper “Kommunalnaya Pravda” reported that fare increase in public transport is planned for April.
However, next day city administration press service in reply to information published on the site of news agency PenzaNews made an official statement in mass media that the fare will not be increased.
