Olimpiyskaya Alley of Penza closed for acaricide processing

Penza, 24 May 2012. PenzaNews. Olimpiyskaya Alley in Penza was closed for acaricide processing on Thursday, May 24. According to the chief of Penza regional Office of Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights Alexander Dmitriev, processing aiming at mites’ eradication will take 3–5 days. He reminded that, 17 victims of mites attacks have been registered in Olimpiyskaya Alley by May 17. Totally, more than 380 people in the Penza region consulted doctors complaining of parasites’ bites.

“Acaricide processing was held in the children’s childrend’s camps “Belka,” “Zarya,” “Chayka,” “Solnechnaya Dolina,” health resort “Niva” and recreation camp in village Lipyagi in Spassky area,” the spokesman added.

Alexander Dmitriev pointed out that the situation in health resort “Berezovaya Roscha” causes alarm because its administration “does not want to deal with this problem.”

“There are posters saying “Beware of mites” throughout the resort, but acaricide processing is not organized. People buy tours to “Berezovaya Roscha” not to get borrelia there,” said the chief of Penza regional office of Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights.
