Penza, 12 June 2012. PenzaNews. The opening ceremony of repaired Tower Clock Kukushka (Cuckoo) was held in Penza on Russia Day, June 12.

Letters of thanks from the Head of Penza Administration were awarded to the initiator of the restoration and veteran of JSC Penzadizelmash Alexander Ryabchenko, General Director of the plant Nikolai Simonov and personnel of the plant.

“It would be nice if every Penza company could create or restore one of the city’s “highlights,” said Nikolai Simonov.

Tower Clock Kukushka have been installed in Penza in 1974 but 30 years later it suffered at the hands of vandals who stole and broke iron and aluminum parts of the structure.

In preparation for the 350th anniversary of Penza, the Tower Clock Kukushka were fixed. The original images of the lost elements were found and reproduced.
