Penza, 12 June 2012. PenzaNews. An official opening ceremony of the renovated Gallery of Honor and Glory of the Penza region took place on Tuesday, June 12. It was attended by representatives of businesses and organizations that had made special contributions to the formation of socio-economic policy of the region.

“It has become a good tradition to honor the people and labor collectives which have made great contributions to the development of the region. It is good to see new faces appear every year,” Governor Vasily Bochkarev said during the official ceremony.

Head of the region expressed gratitude to the representatives of businesses for creating jobs and a taxable base on which the state-supported sector, including, first and foremost, schools and hospitals, relies.

“Thanks to your profits and taxes we now rank first in Russia for social contributions to human [development],” Vasily Bohkarev noted.

Representatives of the labor collectives whose portraits are placed in the Gallery of Honor were awarded diplomas and trophies.
