Penza, 7 November 2013. PenzaNews. The Penza memorial “Torn Star” with the marble part “To soldiers died in local conflicts” smashed by vandals will be restored by December 27. This was reported to news agency PenzaNews by the chairman of the regional organization “Russian Union of Afghan Veterans” Vladimir Kholzinev on Thursday, November 7.

“If someone offers us a huge boulder or shows where it can be taken from, we will be grateful, because we are not going to set marble on the monument, we will use more solid material,” he said.

According to Vladimir Kholzinev, the crashed marble part of the monument was found on Wednesday morning, November 6.

“We have not applied to the police upon the case yet,” the agency interlocutor added.
