Heavy snowfall caused traffic problems in Penza

Penza, 25 December 2014. PenzaNews. Heavy snowfall in Penza caused massive traffic jams on the city streets on Thursday, December 25.

In particular, heavy traffic is observed in the central part of the city.
Car flow is significantly obstructed in Arbekovo, Shuist and Ternovka sections. Transport moves slower than usual near major shopping centers that are overcrowded on the eve of the New Year holidays.
As the press service of Penza administration told PenzaNews agency, around 70 units of snow removal equipment are cleaning the streets.
“Tractor-brushes, road scrapers, plow-brushes and combined road vehicles, as well as frost gritting machines are working,” the mayor’s office clarified.
The press service noted that special priority is given to slopes, bridges and overpasses.
On Thursday, December 25 several regions of Russia experienced heavy snowfall with negative consequences, such as numerous 10-point traffic jams in Moscow.
Traffic difficulties occurred on the streets of St. Petersburg, as well as the regions of Ryazan, Perm, Chelyabinsk and other parts of the country.
