Penza, 29 December 2014. PenzaNews. Penza is holding the 18th place in the competition “City of Russia. National choice.” The votes will be closed at 15.00 of Tuesday, December 30.

As of December 29, 13.00, the capital city of the Penza region received 16,093 votes.

The unrivaled leader of the competition is Khabarovsk with 192,069 votes. Other cities in the top three are Ufa and Kostroma.

The online project “City of Russia. National choice” asks the Russians to choose the most attractive, recognizable and symbolic city of the Russian Federation.

The poll has been set up on a specially designed website with a brief description of the cities participating in the project — information about the history and attractions. Each IP address can vote only once a day.

As the website states, the project aims at establishing and strengthening of national values, a renewing interest in the history of Russian cities and preservation of cultural and historical heritage.
