Penza, 29 December 2014. PenzaNews. The Penza mayor Yuri Krivov has been informed of the billboard signed by the authorities that features an element of the New Year festival “The Best Winter City” by Art.Lebedev studion without prior permission. The copyright infringement caused outrage of the studio’s leader Artemy Lebedev and other bloggers.
“Yuri Ivanovich [Krivov] has just received the newspiece from your website. As soon as he reads it, as soon as he contacts relevant services, we will inform you,” the head of information and analysis department of the city administration Elena Ovchinnikova told PenzaNews agency by phone on Monday, December 29.
However, according to her, official commentary from the press service requires an editorial request.
“We must receive an information request to give you a commentary,” said the agency interlocutor, clarifying that the city administration press office currently only answers written information requests.
As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, Artemy Lebedev, a renown Russian designer, blogger and traveler, vividly accused the Penza authorities of stealing parts of the brand design for a New Year festival “The Best Winter City” developed for the Moscow Mass Event Directorate.
The outburst of critique was caused by a photo made in Penza that depicts a billboard on Pushkina and Stavskovo streets crossroads. The billboard features a photo of a child, the words “Dreams come true!”, the logo of “The Best Winter City”, as well as the number of the oncoming year (2015) and a signature: “Penza city administration.”
