Penza, 29 December 2014. PenzaNews. Vasily Bochkarev, governor of the Penza region, gave his opinion on the main achievements on the region in 2014 that deserve to be a point of pride for all its residents.

“Personally, I see the passing year as interesting and tough. And the first reason for pride to me is completed construction of high-end infectious hospital in Penza. No other region has such medical department, and I am grateful to Valentin Mikhailovich Zhuravlev [general director of JSC ‘Penzastroy’] and his crew for quality work,” said Vasily Bochkarev during a meeting with journalists of top regional media on Monday, December 29.

The second notable achievement, according to the head of the Penza region, is the opening of a new surgery wing of tuberculosis hospital that was highly praised by the Moscow and Kazan professionals.

“No less valuable are new food production plans. We began producing turkey meat and will get almost 15 thousand tons of diet poultry that not only satisfies internal demand but gets supplied to store chains of other regions, contributing to good image of the Penza region,” stressed Vasily Bochkarev.

He also noted that many large cultural institutions opened in 2014, such as the “Penza” cinema and concert hall, the new regional Philarmonic Hall building, and repaired cultural center.

Moreover, the leader of the region also praised successes of international sports competitions in the Penza region and achievements of local representatives in such events.
