Penza, 30 December 2014. PenzaNews. A colorful New Year decoration from Sevastopol has been put on a New Year tree in the governor’s hall in Penza.

The gift was presented in a theatrical performance on Monday, December 29. Actors of “Zabavushka” model folk ensemble of the Bessonovsky area children’s art school gave the New Year decoration to Vasily Bochkarev, governor of the Penza region.

The decoration was created by participants of the contest titled “Sevastopol New Year toy on every main regional Russian New Year tree” organized by the United Russia party. The competition received works made both by individuals and groups.

The Penza regional department of the United Russia party received the toy on December 22.

In a letter that accompanied the gift, the governor of Sevastopol Sergei Menyailo expressed his gratitude for support and wished Penza citizens happy holidays.

“This is the first time Sevastopol and the Crimea are celebrating New Year as part of the Russian federation. Dear friends, dear Russians, we wish you peace, well-being and prosperity. Come to Sevastopol to see our unique city of century-long heroic heritage. We are always happy to meet our guests,” says the letter.
