Penza, 2 February 2015. PenzaNews. The insurance payments were increased by 11.4% on February 1. Over 393,500 citizens of the Penza region will be affected by the change.

“The fixed payments for the insurance, the analogue of the former fixed base payment, has also increased by 11.4%. As a result, the average monthly pension will total at 11,365 rubles 20 kopecks,” Elena Ilyicheva, media expert of the Penza region branch of the Pension Fund, informed PenzaNews agency.

She reminded that such increases are now calculated based on pension points starting from 2015.

“As of February 1, one pension point grew to 71.40 rubles, compared to 64.10. As on further increased during the year, we will increase social pensions on April 1, taking into account last year’s minimum living wage of an elderly person living in Russia. In August, we will traditionally recalculate the pensions for working elderly citizens,” explained the state servant.

According to her, the minimum pensions will not go lower than the minimum living wage in the region for the elderly, which is set at 6,033 rubles in the Penza region.

“If a person’s pension along with other subsidies for an unemployed pensioner is below the minimum living wage, he will be assigned a social donation. Starting on February 1, 29,890 people will receive this donation that will average at 945 rubles. For comparison, a total of 34,848 people received a donation that averaged at 1,021 rubles as of January 1, 2015,” Elena Ilyicheva explained.
