Penza head Viktor Kuvaytsev awards 70th Victory anniversary medals to veterans

Penza, 13 April 2015. PenzaNews. The head of Penza Viktor Kuvaytsev awarded 30 war veterans and home front workers who live in the GPZ neighborhood commemorative medals for the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The ceremonial event was held in school No. 77 on Monday, April 13.
Addressing the audience, Viktor Kuvaytsev noted that they inspect social life conditions of veterans, home front workers, widows and disabled veterans, and many of them are watched over by home care services.
The city head added that the officials have revised the plaques and monuments dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, lists of Soviet Union Heroes, and bearers of the Order of Glory of any degree.
He also noted that the Penza Military and Labor Valor Monument and the adjacent territory is currently undergoing renovation procedure.
“Our society, our country remembers your military and labor feats. We are forever grateful for your selfless service to the Fatherland. Thank you for the Victory, for which your generation had to pay a high price,” Viktor Kuvaytsev expressed his gratitude to the veterans.
The award ceremony was followed by a concert prepared by school students.
As the press service of the Penza City Duma told PenzaNews agency, over 8 thousand people will be awarded commemorative medals before May 9.
