Penza, 28 April 2015. PenzaNews. The regional robotics elimination championship “Penza-WRO 2015” will be held in the “Tsentralniy” sports and recreation complex on Wednesday, April 29.

The event acts as a filter to the All-Russian Robotics Olympics to form the regional team.

The competition will involve teams from educational institutions of cities, towns and areas of the Penza region who are actively using Lego Mindstorms NXT/EV3, Amperka and other robotics kits in their education.

The competition is divided into three areas.

In Freeform, the participants are tasked with creating an autonomous robot able to navigate from start to finish along a pre-set course or through a labyrinth.

In Artistic, the teams will present their robotics projects on various tasks.

In Main, the children will be instructed to perform a series of tasks on special competition fields according to the WRO rules.

Moreover, the “Penza-WRO 2015” elimination competition will feature a WorldSkills Junior children’s robotics tournament, says the press service of the regional Ministry of Education.
