Penza driver fined over 130,000 rubles for not removing car from impound lot

Penza, 22 May 2015. PenzaNews. The court fined a car ower 132,392 rubles in favor of “Penza City Road Traffic Management Center” for not paying for car towing and storage at an impound lot. The sentence has come into force.
“A representative of the state institution reported that the Chevrolet car was towed under an order of a traffic police officer for illegal parking on March 17, 2014. The car was brought to the impound lot,” Natalya Bychenkova, press secretary of the Penza regional court, informed PenzaNews agency.
The Penza tariffs for car towing is 103 rubles per 1 km, and 52 rubles per 1 hour of impound lot usage, she added.
“The debt for the towed car from March 17 to July 1, 2014, exceeded 132,000 rubles. The litigant was offered to pay the debt on his own, which he refused to do,” the speaker noted.
The court of the original jurisdiction stood in favor of the accusation, but the litigant filed an appeal, Natalya Bychenkova explained.
“The civil affairs collegiate of the Penza regional court declined the appeal,” the press secretary pointed out.
