Penza, 22 May 2015. PenzaNews. One of the top Russian bloggers, Ilya Varlamov, known online as Zyalt, believes the upcoming changes on the Penza region political arena, where the term of the current governor Vasily Bochkarev is about to run out, are directly related to his visit in the region and the criticism that followed.

“I’m closely watching the changes happening in Penza after my visit. See for yourselves. One: the governor Vasily Bochkarev will be removed for the first time since 1998. Two: the Penza region government as a whole will be fired on May 26. Three: the chief architect, who did so much damage to the city, was fired,” Ilya Varlamov wrote in his LiveJournal account early on Friday, May 22.
“A coincidence? I don’t think so! You may say my reports are not related, and Putin did not read my reports before ousting the governor. In reality, Putin never misses a single post of mine, though you may think otherwise. In any case, these layoffs are just some fluff and not the reason I went to Penza,” the blogger added.
He thinks that the changes that were really important happened on the streets, where trash has been removed from several of them.
To prove his words, Ilya Varlamov posted one of his photos depicting an illegal trash dump in the midst of a neighborhood, and a later photo where it was cleaned up.
