Penza, 1 June 2015. PenzaNews. A criminal case on attempted illegal tree felling was initiated on tree vandalism in “Tri Gvozdiki” public garden located on Karpinskovo street of Penza city.

“The investigation found that the public garden was included in the list of guarded natural territories of local importance in 2007 by the decree dated June 26. However, the land plot of the public garden has no defined border and did not undergo cadastral registration, and as thus its legal status and size is unknown,” Yulia Makarova, Senior Assistant Attorney of the region in Media Relations, informed PenzaNews agency.

She explained that the indefinite borders of the location and the lack of cadastral registration of the land plot may cause negative consequences down to its elimination, which would be a violation of the citizens’ constitutional rights for enabling environment.

“As a result of the audit, the prosecutor instructed the head of Lenisky city area administration to rectify the land legislation breaches. It is currently being reviewed,” the speaker sia.d

Moreover, Yulia Makarova added that the criminal case on tree vandalism is being closely monitored by the Leninsky area prosecutor.
