“It mainly aims to increase the monitoring of traffic law violations by the motorcycle drivers,” the press service of the Penza region traffic police informed PenzaNews agency.

To be eligible for driving a scooter, a person must have an M-class driver’s license or get a driver’s license of any other class.

“The amendments to the Russian Code of Administrative Violations made scooter drivers eligible for punishment under all articles of Chapter 12. A person driving a scooter without a license will be fined 5-15 thousand rubles, a DUI will result in a driving ban for 18 to 24 months and a fine of 30,000 rubles,” the press service clarified.
