Penza summer school “TeenGrad” finishes

Penza, 20 July 2015. PenzaNews. The official closing ceremony of the summer school “TeenGrad,” a part of the regional interdepartmental program for children and youth innovative science populatization “1000-list-nick,” has beel held in the Penza Olympic reserve school.

It was preceded by an exhibition of the projects created by the camp students, each stand featuring a display prototype developed in accordance to the tasks assigned at the opening.
Among them are a power circuit for remote home power management and power leak prevention; a body posture correction device; a locator for lost items; a toy construction kit; a post-trauma bone fixation device; a LED bracelet for late-night pedestrians to prevent road crossing accidents; and more.
The visitors were invited to see how the projects work, review the advertising and ask questions to their creators.
The projects will potentially get a further review in during the “Synergy” event involving children who took part in the summer school.
The acting deputy chairman of the Penza region government Valery Bespalov addressed the students with kind words during the ceremony proper.
“My expectations at the opening of the summer camp were not in vain. You did not disappoint me in a single thing. Thank you very much for that,” he said.
Valery Bespalov also added he expects the program “100-list-nick” to develop further.
The speech was followed by an award ceremony for the most prominent participants of “TeenGrad,” as well as the school organizers and volunteers.
The project brought together 110 children divided into eight youth innovative companies that were tasked to design, prototype and describe a project in 10 days using the cases prepared by other teenagers during InnoTeens-2015 idea auction.
The students of the camp visited dedicated clubs, took guided tours to the best enterprises of the region, and met people of science, industry and business, including the Russian cosmonaut and Hero of Russia Alexander Samokutyaev who left a letter of guidance for “TeenGrad” in 2016.
The teachers and tutors also enjoyed lectures, guided tours and dedicated seminars in the teachers’ academy.
All participants received certificates of “1000-list-nick” program.
