It brought together some 400 people – women with children, authorities, representatives of civil communities and educational institutions.
The library foyer was occupied by art spaces “Kerchief Magic,” “Mothers’ Stuff Fair” and “Poetic Horoscope,” where ladies were able to choose a new haircut using e-technologies and learn the basics of mehndi, the application of henna as a temporary form of skin decoration.
Opening the official part of the event, the governor Ivan Belozertsev thanked the women for their contribution to educating children and emphasizing family values.
“There is no word more important, there is no person closer in the whole world, than Mother. From the first days, your heartfelt care, the warmth of mother’s hands and love of a loyal heart warm and protect you, inspire belief in yourselves. All good in children comes from you – you who are kind, understanding and wise,” he said.
He addressed separate words of gratitude to the women who adopted the children who lost their parents.
“To become their true parents, educate them, see them off to the independent life – there is no task more noble and important. And many Penza citizens succeed in it,” Ivan Belozertsev stressed.
During the festive event, mothers of many children received letters of gratitude.
The official part was followed by performances of art ensembles.
