Penza Leroy Merlin hypermarket opens doors for customers

Penza, 10 December 2015. PenzaNews. The new Leroy Merlin hypermarket has officially opened in Penza on Thursday, December 10. It is located on Stroiteley prospekt, 1D. It has become the company’s 41st store in Russia.

The Penza hypermarket is greatly different from company’s other stores, having been built using a much more elaborate design, said Alexei Berdennikov, regional director of Leroy Merlin.
Moreover, the hypermarket was built in record time: the construction began in March 2015, and the store opened doors for customers as soon as nine months later.
The opening of the Leroy Merlin hypermarket created 160 new jobs, with plans to expand the staff to 300 people, the press service of Penza city administration informed PenzaNews agency.
Leroy Merlin (“Lerua Merlen” in Russia) is an international retailer specializing in goods for home, dacha and garden construction and decoration.
The company was founded in 1923 in Northern France. Currently, it holds the top position in Europe in sales volumes.
The first Leroy Merlin store in Russia opened the doors in Mytishchi city in 2004. At present, the company owns 40 hypermarkets in 20 Russian cities.
