Penza, 11 January 2016. PenzaNews. Penza drivers are satisfied with the snow-cleaning work done on the main highways in the city as the road crews, after a noticeable break, cleaned the backbone roads off ice and sleet, making them comfortable to navigate through.

In particular, the road crews showed their timely work in the Arbekovo residential area (on Stroiteley and Pobedy prospekts), as well as in the city center (Suvorova, Kirova and Bakunina streets), along with Okruzhnaya streets and the GPZ-24, Yuzhnaya Polyana and Zapadnaya polyana residential areas.

The road traffic remains difficult on steep roads, particularly on the likes of those encountered along Volodarskovo and Krasnaya streets, where several drivers underestimated the challenge of getting uphill and blocked the passways for a while.

Those who unsuccessfully braved the dangerous rise had to back down along the street towards the Kuraeva street crossing.

At the same time, the situation with snow and sleet on yard roads leaves more to be desired. Some internal passways left cars stuck in the morning of the year’s first official working day. Some drivers encountered an unpleasant surprise while simply trying to start their cars, as their batteries were left drained after the cold spell and the ten days of rest.

As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, the governor Ivan Belozertsev ordered to create a snow-cleaning management system in Penza. The instructions were announced during the regional government meeting session held on Monday, January 11.

In particular, the head of the region advised the Penza mayor Victor Kuvaytsev to mobilize work in regards to signing contracts with trade and commercial organizations to take responsibility for territories adjacent to their location.
