Penza, 11 January 2016. PenzaNews. A girl student of the Penza college, 16, who died after falling out of the fourth floor window of the dormitory, was reportedly trying to get out to obtain alcohol, Lyudmila Fomina, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the city Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, told PenzaNews agency.

The tragic incident took place at about 2.00 am at night into December 30, and the girl passed away in the hospital several days later, she pointed out.

“Based on the testimony provided by the girl’s neighbors, she returned back to her room drunk late at night. Shortly after, the teenagers sought to continue drinking, but lacked the alcohol and were unable to leave the dorm late at night. The girl said she will be able to get down to the ground floor from her window, and left for her room. The tragic incident occured after that,” the media representative explained.

The incident is currently under investigation before the court, Lyudmila Fomina added.

As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, the tragic incident was discussed by the governor Ivan Belozertsev during the Penza region government meeting session on January 11.

According to him, the incident was an outrage, as the girl’s family was at risk because her mother was spending a prison sentence for murdering her husband, and therefore the girl must have been the subject of particular attention to prevent any incidents.
