The experts are currently conducting site investigation and geodesic computations necessary for the construction.

Spetsstroy will be outfitting the training complex of the Penza Artillery Engineering Institute and two military communities.

The testing range will have a driving course with a ford, a ditch crossed with a plank bridge, an overpass and a railroad crossing, as well as a field car park with two tents and a deployment area for army maintenance companies.

The site also will be fenced off by “Makhaon” type perimeter barrier, and have two demountable stands for 500 seats.

In addition, the army shooting range “Strela” will be equipped with a command and control post and five practice zones for completing objectives with assault rifles, machine guns, underbarrel grenade launchers, sniper rifles, imitation grenades, rocket launchers and pistols.

“The works, including installation of the required utilities and land improvement measures, must be completed in full by June 30,” the Spetsstroy press service informed PenzaNews.

The 2016 International Army Games will be held between June 30 and August 13, and will feature 23 international contests on 19 army testing ranges, in Black and Caspian Sea waters, as well as on two ranges in Kazakhstan.

This year’s International Army Games will be hosted by Penza for the first time.
