Penza, 25 March 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza city mayor Victor Kuvaytsev has explained the details of the road repairs plan for the current year.

The topic in question was brought to the spotlight during the 20th regular City Duma session on Friday, March 25, by the head of the Penza Duma LDPR faction Zhigansha Tuktarov, who placed emphasis on the fact that the roads are currently in a state of disrepair.

“Would you be able, as a mayor, to ensure the roads are up to the level, so that the people would later be saying: ‘It was Kuvaytsev who began repairing the roads’?” he asked.

In return, Victor Kuvaytsev replied that he is currently unable to say how the people will describe his work afterwards, but he strictly follows his objectives and demands the same from his subordinates.

“We have a sufficiently good service that can monitor the work quality and technology,” he clarified.

The mayor stressed that the roads fell into the state of disrepair not all at once, while some roads are still within their guarantee periods.

“As soon as the weather allows it, the subcontractors responsible for them will go out on the streets to work,” Victor Kuvaytsev explained.

According to him, there is a proposal to implement the more expensive stone mastic asphalt technology to improve the quality and service term of roads.

“We will be working, choosing the roads that serve as rather crucial arteries of our city,” said the administration head.

These include main roads and prospekts with heavy traffic, he clarified,

“There is a problem, but let's hold through, wait for the suitable weather to make these roads in good quality,” Victor Kuvaytsev concluded.
