Penza, 7 June 2016. PenzaNews. The initiative by four young adults to bring 20 cans of “Penza air” and 8 cans of “Russian air” to Marseille for the Euro-2016 championship organizers and the Russian football national team in a car rally cannot be taken seriously, Vladimir Simagin, State Duma deputy from the Penza region for the CPRF faction, secretary of the regional Communist Party committee, told PenzaNews.

“What even is this idea to bring empty tin cans? Don’t they have anything better to bring from Russia?” he said.
He added that the fans, in his opinion, could have brought with themselves an arrangement of souvenirs from Penza or other goods.
“But the empty tin cans […] this is just laughable, for me at least,” Vladimir Simagin stressed.
In an answer to the question about his assortment of choice to bring from Russia to France in a similar rally, the State Duma deputy noted that the opposite question – about bringing something from a foreign country – is asked much more often.
“What souvenirs would I bring? A Penza t-shirt, obviously – we have them. Perhaps the Penza flag. And then I would be standing at the stands waving it,” he summed up.
