Penza “Kvartal Louis” to open drama school for children with Down syndrome

Penza, 7 October 2016. PenzaNews. Drama school for children with Down syndrome will be open in the Penza Art Hall “Kvartal Louis” on Sunday, October 9.

The art hall school welcomes children aged 6 to 12. The classes will be held by the honored artist of Russia, artistic director of the Lunacharsky Penza regional drama theater Sergey Kazakov.
As the chairman of “Blagovest” public organization, director of “Kvartal Louis” Maria Lvova-Belova, the classes will be free of charge.
“Everyone will have their own specifics, there will be more emphasis on facial expressions, gestures, because not all of the students have good speech functions. At the beginning we shall try to develop communication skills, restorative theater classes. In the future, we expect it to be the performances with direct participation of children, depending on their capabilities,” the agency interlocutor explained.
According to her, currently there is a group of eight people.
