As it was reported by the press secretary of the regional Ministry of Health Tatyana Manukhina, it happened on Saturday, January 9.

“He died in a medical institution in Penza,” the interlocutor specified.

According to her, the reason of the fatal outcome was the fact that the patient turned to doctors too late.

“He had chronic disease of upper airways,” Tatyana Manukhina noted.

According to the information of the regional department of the Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer rights protection and human well-being, during the first week of 2017, 1,711 cases of cold-related diseases were registered in the region, 14 of them – of A influenza virus, which was confirmed by the laboratory analysis. The morbidity rate remains below the threshold of epidemic.
