Penza, 11 January 2017. PenzaNews. Flights from Penza to Kazan and Nizhniy Novgorod are planned to be retained, even though they were not included into the programme of domestic air transportation funding for 2017. This was reported by the deputy chairman of the Penza region government Valery Bespalov on Wednesday, January 11.

“At present, together with the company ‘Avia Management’ we are discussing how we will conduct flights on the routes ‘Penza-Kazan’ and ‘Penza-Nizhniy Novgorod’. We plan to retain these flights but we are not ready to say how many times a week and on which of the routes the flights will be conducted,” the interlocutor said.

He noted that flights to Kazan are of higher demand than those to Nizhniy Novgorod.

Valery Bespalov added that the lack of funding from the federal budget should not affect the passengers.

“It will not affect the ticket prices. They will remain at the same level,” he specified.

Valery Bespalov also explained that the Penza region budget for 2017 includes the money for the support of air transportation between the cities of the Volga federal district.

“The funds in the regional budget remained. It means that these flights will be conducted but I am not ready to say how often. It depends not only on us,” the interlocutor summed up.
