In Penza Day of Russia celebrated with festival of non-profit organisations, summit of pilaf and craftsmen fair

Penza, 12 June 2018. PenzaNews. On Russia Day and the day of 355th anniversary of Penza, Moskovskaya street and adjacent territories became the venue of several events.

The public garden opposite the A.V. Lunacharsky regional drama theatre hosted the 7th festival of non-profit organisations and city communities Good Penza. Non-profit organizations of the city managed to present their activities there and raise funds for project implementation. Guests of the festival had an opportunity to shoot a bow, to make hair and henna drawings on skin as well as to buy souvenirs.

In addition, the festival became the venue of a concert programme. One of the most memorable numbers was an oriental dance in colourful costumes.

The summit of pilaf organized by the regional public organisation Uzbek Community together with the charity fund of the support of family, motherhood and childhood Pokrov was held on the same venue. Fifteen chefs competed in the skill of cooking the dish. The donations collected as a result of the campaign will be directed to the treatment of sick children.

On June 12 the final day of the festival of folk crafts and trades Kanitel was held. The fair was located in Moskovskaya street, Fontannaya square, as well as in the public gardens Cuckoo and Box of Proverbs.

Residents and guests of the city could see and purchase handicrafts made by craftsmen from 79 cities and towns of Russia as well as get acquainted with traditional crafts – blacksmithing and pottery, felting, painting and wood carving, work with birch bark, beading, and knitting.
