Penza, 30 December 2014. PenzaNews. Aliya Mustafina, leader of the Russian female gymnastics team, began her training in the “Burtasy” sports palace in Penza.
The young lady places her emphasis on basic performance elements, being careful to avoid straining her damaged back.
According to Aliya Mustafina, her main task right now is to get back into good shape to succeed in the next important competition during the oncoming season.
“Main task for the next year – make my back recover. Only then we can talk about a program or competitions. Now it’s no use to. I don’t know how long my back will keep aching. The main starts are the Russian and European championships, the Russian cup and the World Championship. There’s also going to be the so-called Olympics in Europe and the University Olympics,” the gymnast clarified.
She also explained why she chose to train under he Penza coach Sergei Starkin.
“I wanted to work with Sergei Valeryevich. I understood it’d be very difficult for me to train on my own in the future. I can trust this person,” online resource “Penza-Sport” quotes the Olympic champion.
