Presently, they are playing for other regions: Sergei Sekisov, Sergei Yanyushkin and Evgeny Matveev are members of “VVA-Podmoskovye,” while Rushan Yagudin plays in “Krasny Yar.”

The Russian national team began training for the match on January 16, when 29 players were summoned to Sochi for a gathering. On January 25, they were joined by the members of “Yenisey-STM” which finished its matches in the European Challenge Cup.

Following that, the coaches led by the head trainer Alexander Pervukhin made a series of crucial changes in the team, after which 13 players who were taking part in the training were sent home – however, all four players from Penza remained in the team.

After the first round of the European Nations Cup, the Russian national team holds the fourth place with 13 points. The leaders of the tournament are Georgia, Romania and Spain, says the press service of the Penza rugby club “Imperia.”
