“Overall, the games were outstanding. Today, we had too many unjustified penalties, the score difference was big. Thanks to ‘Dizelist’ for letting us play good matches with a strong and masterful team before the play-offs. This is precious experience for the guys – they need to grow. We have the games versus the Minsk ‘Yunost’ ahead of us. The matches in Penza served as good rehearsals,” he said.
In turn, Alexei Vaulin, trainer for “Dizelist,” also pointed out that the games were played at a high skill level.
“Nobody yielded in the struggle, the guys fought to the end. The teams showed us good hockey. I think our team is functional and fit enough for the play-offs. There are combinations, player subgroups, we are scoring nice goals,” the press service of “Diesel” quotes Alexei Vaulin.
After 44 games, the Penza team earned 89 points and achieved the fourth place in the Youth Hockey League roster.
Its first play-off match will take place on Saturday, March 5, when “Dizelist” will play versus “Zelenograd” that reached the fifth position in the tournament list.
