“We will play a home game versus Raiders 52 from Nizhny Novgorod,” the head coach of the Penza Phoenixes Pavel Andreev informed PenzaNews.
Before the championship, the team took part in a friendly game in Yelets of the Lipetsk region versus the local team 48e, which ended up victorious in the match – 30:20.
“It must be pointed out that the team approached this game – which is, by the way, our first over the past two years – completely renewed, not just in terms of emblem and uniform, but also with new players and a new head coach, and so we did not have enough experience to fight against the Lipetsk region team,” he explained.
According to Pavel Andreev, the players made several glaring mistakes that will be analyzed during the meeting and corrected in training.
“In any case, the recent friendly match was an excellent opportunity for the young players to get experience. And as for the positive moments, as a head coach, I would highlight the confident play by our quarterback Dmitry Yeremin, the safety Dmitry Yastrebov and the offensive lineman Alexei Tyurin,” he summed up.
