The Penza football club “Zenit,” a member of the Russian football competition for the second division in the “Center” zone, will do everything it can not to fall below the previous year’s results in the spring tournament section, said the team’s head coach Armen Adamyan.

“Overall, the team is ready for tackling high objectives. We will work to keep our performance not below last year’s level – or, to be clear, to reach the top three. This is the objective we have for us,” he said during the press conference in the city hall on Wednesday, April 13.

The team trainer reminded that five players – Alexander Abroskin, Serob Grigoryan, Dmitry Vyalchinov, Alexander Tsybikov and Denis Baryshnikov – left “Zenit” and were replaced by Alexander Solovyev, Evgeny Alferov, Denis Selischev and Artem Zagrebin.

“I think the replacements are equal. There are some injury-related issues. But, as I said many times, there are players that must act as leaders. This is how the new names grow,” Armen Adamyan stressed.

The Penza team will hold its first home match in the new series at “Zenit” stadium at 15.00 of Sunday, April 16, versus the Kursk “Avangard.”
