Penza, 13 April 2016. PenzaNews. The Shotokan Cup and open competition of the Penza region Eastern Martial Arts Federation will be held at the sports palace “Voeykov” on Saturday, April 16.

The events will conclude the process of selection for the strongest athletes that would be able to participate in the Russian Cup and the countrywide Eastern martial arts competition in Moscow in October.

The Penza competition will bring together martial artists from Penza city and the Sosnovoborsk, Zemetchino, Mokshan, Bessonovka and Lunino areas, as well as Moscow and the Saratov, Ryazan and Tambov regions, Alexei Yeliseev, chairman of the Penza region Eastern Martial Arts Federation, chairman of the martial arts council “Fort,” told PenzaNews.

“Overall, around 300 martial artists will gather at ‘Voeykov’,” he clarified.

According to him, the judge of the tournament will be Alexander Shalya, Moscow’s international class judge and JKA dan 4.

“The competition will begin at 10.00. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 13.00,” Alexei Yeliseev said.
