Penza, 26 July 2016. PenzaNews. The footballers from the Penza football school must be considered to join the main roster of the local club “Zenit” as their first and foremost option, suggested the mayor Victor Kuvaytsev during his meeting with the team on Tuesday, July 26.

“Since our municipal budget institution hosts a professional football team, we would like to see more players from Penza in its roster. At the moment, they constitute only 50% of the team,” he said.

According to the mayor, the Penza “Zenit” is currently teaching over 300 children of different ages, who potentially may form a full team.

“I do not intend to offend any invited players; it’s just that […] the potential of our coaches is great. Many of the children currently studying with the team come from Penza, show good results and strive for them. In the future, they can be enrolled in the main roster. We must work towards it,” the city administration head concluded.
