Victor Kuvaytsev begins work as Penza city mayor

Penza, 21 December 2015. PenzaNews. The acting Penza city head Roman Petrukhin has signed the employment contract with Victor Kuvaytsev who was unanimously supported as the new Penza mayor during the 16th extraordinary session of the City Duma of the sixth convocation on Wednesday, December 16.

The city manager signed the agreement on Monday, December 21, the press service of the city administration informed PenzaNews agency.
“Having done that, the newly elected Penza city administration head begins his work,” the press service noted.
As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, the previous city administration head was Yuri Krivov, who worked in the office between July 2014 and November 2015, when he resigned from the duty and moved on to work as a deputy chairman in the Penza region government as of 1 December 2015.
Before his new job, Victor Kuvaytsev, then a deputy in the City Duma of the sixth convocation, was elected the city head during the first organizational session held on 24 September 2014.
He was one of the seven people who supplied the documents to take part in the contest to replace the former Penza city administration head that took place on 11 December 2015.
Afterwards, Victor Kuvaytsev was among the 6 contestants cleared for the event, and then proceeded into the final stage as one of the three candidates for the Penza mayor’s office, along with Yuri Chipchiu, head of the Leninsky city area administration, and Oleg Denisov, deputy head of the Zheleznodorozhny city area administration.
On 16 December 2015, Victor Kuvaytsev was unanimously elected the new city administration head during the 16th extraordinary session of the City Duma of the sixth committee. Because of that, one of his assistants, Roman Petrukhin, was appointed acting Penza city head.
