Ebola-suspected patient's condition found satisfactory

Penza, 29 October 2014. PenzaNews. The condition of the Nigerian patient who was hospitalized in Penza with a suspected case of Ebola is satisfactory, informed the spokesman of the regional department of Health Ministry on the evening of Wednesday, October 29.

He told PenzaNews agency that the young man’s temperature is within normal levels.
“He continues to receive the treatment for respiratory viral infection,” the agency interlocutor said.
The representative of the Ministry of Health of the Penza region added that people who had contact with the patient are still under medical supervision.
“Their condition is also satisfactory,” he said.
As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, the Nigerian student arrived to study at Belinsky Pedagogical Institute of Penza State University on October 17. He became the first patient in the region with a suspected case of Ebola. He had symptomatic high temperature.
The young man is currently residing in the Penza regional special medical care center, where he will stay until his diagnosis is established. The doctors took all the necessary samples. Blood samples were sent to the Special Diacrisis Center of the Ministry of Defense in Sergiev Posad, and the results are expected by the end of this week.
Special security arrangements were taken in the special medical care center that received the hospitalized Nigerian student with a suspected case of Ebola.
According to Sergei Oleinik, the deputy chief medical officer on epidemiology for the Penza region special medical care center, the medical workers did a good job. He also informed how the doctors operated when the foreigner was hospitalized with heat fever.
